Nathaniel Hartman

Nathaniel Hartman has a Bachelors of Music Degree in Percussion Performance and a Master’s of Fine Art from The Ohio State University.

Nathaniel has been teaching and performing for over 15 years.  He has performed with various groups across the United States.  He was a member of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra from 2002 to 2006 and had the great fortune of performing with the Cleveland Orchestra on several occasions.  He was a member of the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle corps from 2005 to 2007 during which The Bluecoats placed 4th in the Drum Corps International World Championships.  He has had the fortune to perform at the 2006 and 2007 Percussive Arts Society International Conferences in Columbus, Ohio and Austin, Texas.

He has taught everything from marching drum lines to computer music composition.  His teaching posts range from Cleveland and Central Ohio High Schools to Lecturing at The Ohio State University and Denison University.

He has received accolades nationally and internationally for his work in film sound production and his albums.

He has had the privilege of studying with Dr. Susan Powell, Joseph Krygier, So Percussion, Joseph Adato, Tom Rarick, and Matthew Larson.

His teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in music fundamentals and engaged musical learning through technology integration.
